To earn the award, goals are set in four areas: volunteer public service; personal development; physical fitness and expedition / exploration. All medal winners receive awards from a Congressman. Gold medal winners are eligible to attend Washington, D.C.'s awards ceremony. The congressional award is great for OPR/EPR and college admissions.
Air Force Aid Society/Youth Employment Skills Program
Military dependants 13 to 18 years of age are eligible for this program. This program requires 250 volunteer hours and upon completion, they will receive $1,000 scholarship toward a college of their choice.
The TRAIL Program (Training Responsibility Adolescents in Leadership)
Adventure training teaches kids how to come together and work as a team preparing them for life.
SMART Moves Program (Skills Mastery and Resistance Training)
The SMART Moves Program develops and enhances the skills necessary for a healthy lifestyle; develops positive lifelong nutritional habits, based on an understanding of the nutritional needs specific to females; develops communication skills through the involvement of adult female/male role models/mentors (specifically mothers, fathers and other family members) to enhance the important female/male relationships; and provides discussions and practice ways to increase self-esteem and feeling about becoming a strong, independent female. Eligible ages for this program are 9 to 18 years of age.
Camps
Camps are available during Summer, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Vacations. Daily field trips, nutritious meals, educational games, drama and arts & crafts are provided.
Outdoor Adventure
