| Dorcheat Bayou Canoe Trip

Scuba Classes
Scuba classes take place Mon-Fri August 11-17. Cost is $250 per person for class of 10 or more and $295 for a class under 10. Professionally trained instructors, gear and classroom materials are provided. Classes include an open water dive trip to Texas. Persons must be age 10 or older to participate. Sign up at Equipment Rental or Outdoor Rec.
Cycling The Red River Trail
Spend the morning on a 10 mile scenic cycling tour of the west bank of the Red River. Bring your own bike or use one of ours for $5. Cost is $5 and includes lunch, transportation and water. Riders are encouraged to bring a day pack. Sign up at Equipment Rental or Outdoor Recreation on the East side.
Paintball
Open paintball is available by appointment on Saturdays between 9am-4pm. Cost is $20 per person and includes paintgun with CO2, marker, mask and 500 paintballs. Only paint purchased at the field is permissible. Players must be 10 years of age or older to participate. Squadrons, work groups and parties are welcome! USE OF ANY PAINTBALL FIELD when the Outdoor Recreation Staff is not present is PROHIBITED! Vandals and thieves will be prosecuted! Call

Off-Field Paint
Diablo Heat off-field paintball paint is available for purchase at Equipment Rental, Outdoor Recreation and the Clear Lake Paintball Field for $35/case.
Recreation Lodging Available
Five fully furnished (two pet friendly) campers are available for rent at $30 per day at FamCamp. Most campers sleep at least five people. All campers
have slide outs, TV, linen, kitchen utensils, coffee pot,
toaster, and refrigerator. A laundry room and bath
house are available for use at the club house.
Persons bringing pets must pay a $50 refundable deposit. Call FamCamp at 318.456.2679 for availabilities.
3-D Archery
3-D Archery tournaments take place August 24 and September 28. Professionals participate for only $25, Non-members for $10, Members, youth & cubs for $5 and peewees participate for free. Anyone without base privileges must register by the Monday before the event. Call 318.456.7765 or

FamCamp
FamCamp is located on the East side and consists of 42 campsites with 50/30/20 amp hookups, water, sewer and Y FI. A site with all amenities is $350/month, $90/week or $14/day. Primitive (tent) camping is $4 per night, Please review the documents below for more detailed information.

Walking, Hiking & Biking Trails
Get back to nature by taking your family on a hike through the East Reservation trails consisting of a 3 mile or 7 mile trail. The hiking trail begins on the other side of Flag Lake Gate and is well marked so you won't stray off into the wilderness. Stop by Outdoor Recreation on the East side to pick up your map. Don't forget to stop by Equipment Rental, Natural Resources or the East side Shoppette to get the combination to the gate.
Boat Rental & Fishing
Boats are available for rent at many of the base lakes. Take advantage of the beautiful surroundings of Barksdale while you enjoy fishing, sightseeing or just looking around for one the 14 foot alligators. Stop by Equipment Rental to take your boating safety test which lasts approximately one hour. For those of you who have previously tested, we honor boater safety cards from other bases.
Outdoor Adventure Events
A variety of special events are hosted each year by your Outdoor Recreation staff including canoe trips, archery tournaments, Global Volksmarch, family camping trips, backpacking, horseback riding and organized hikes through the beautiful surroundings of Barksdale AFB.
