Hours of Operation Mon - Fri: 7:30am-4:30pm. The center is closed from 3-4:30pm every Wednesday for training.
Mission The primary focus of this facility is to support Barksdale AFB Readiness by assisting families and single military members adapt to the demands of Air Force life. To accomplish this mission, they offer a variety of educational programs and services that are open to all military employees and their families including active duty, reservists, guardsmen and DoD civilians.
Core Activities Core activities include Air Force Aid, Family/Work Life, Personal Financial Management, Readiness, Relocation Assistance, Spouse Employment, Transition Assistance, Volunteer Resource, Leadership Consultation and Crisis Assistance.
Bundles for Babies Bundles for Babies is an Air Force Aid sponsored program facilitated by Airman & Family Readiness Center staff and the New Parents Support Program. Bundles provides expectant parents with a wealth of information enabling them to be responsible parents as well as a bundle of baby items. The program addresses financial implications, child safety and nurturing the child, as well as family resources available to them.

Career Assessment/Individual Transition Plan
This workshop uses the MBTI and interest, values and skills inventories to provide a basic foundation of self assessment as it relates to career choices. Participants will have a better understanding of themselves in order to make career decisions. Tools will be provided for participants to research career options.
Federal Employment Workshop
The Federal Employment Workshop aids participants in gaining an understanding of the Federal employment process and information about the Federal resume such as format, content and KSAs. Participants receive hands-on experience in finding key words, writing KSAs and using usajobs.gov.

Financial Matters for Women
Women in the military, whether they are the service member or the spouse of a service member, often manage families while trying to live up to the expectations of the mission. This presentation shares ideas on striking a balance in this unique role. It teaches women to create spending plans, to work on a financial plan, take advantage of military benefits and plan for deployment.
Finance 101
This program is designed for those individuals who have questions, concerns or need guidance on how to properly and effectively handle finances. This class covers checkbook management, basic budgeting, credit reports and other financial issues.
Key Spouse Orientation
The Key Souse Program is a unit-level peer program designed to enhance existing family readiness services by reaching out to the broad base of spouses of deployed personnel through the use of an informal support system. Key Spouses are selected by their respective squadron commander and first sergeants to act as a liaison between the squadron and the waiting family member. This is a 3-hour workshop to orientate new key spouses.
Microsoft Office 2007 Workshops
PowerPoint - Creating Presentations. Learn new features, create slides, add text, choose themes, pictures, how to use SmartArt Graphics and all about animation.
Getting to Know Word. Get up to speed with new features, quick styles, new file formats and more.
Excel - Goodbye Calculators! This formula workshop focuses on new features, math operations, cell references and using function arguments.
Access - Databases I. Learn about new features, how Access does data, how to use the new template database feature, create tables, forms and reports. You will love the "new" Access.

Military & Family Life Consultants
Military and Family Life Consultants (MFLC) are here to listen and are available to help service members and their families regarding deployment/reintegration, marriage and relationships, parenting/siblings and family, communication challenges, stress and anxiety, depression, grief and loss and daily life issues. Consultations and training are free and anonymous. After hours and weekend appointments are available. Group and off-site meetings are also available. Scheduling an appointment is easy! Money Club for Singles
Join us for an hour to discuss basic saving and investing. Bring a friend and lunch.
Operation Hero
Facilitated by the A&FRC, "Operation Hero" is a mock deployment intended to give children of all ages a better undersanding of the deployment process. During the day, children will receive a mission brief from 2d Bomb Wing leadership, go through a mobility processing line, explore what is inside a mobility bag, and much more. In addition, children will be served lunch and will receive several give-a-ways. Children must be accompanied by one parent.

Personal Readiness Briefing
With so many upcoming military deployments, it is vital to have personal and family affairs in order. This program is available to provide information and support during all phases of deployment. This briefing is mandatory for all active duty members that have a "firm" deployment tasking and are within 60 days of departure. Spouses, family members and/or significant others are welcome to attend.
Pre-Separation Briefing
In anticipation of retirement or separation, the law directs that members attend the pre-separation briefing as soon as possible within the preceding 24 or 12 months respectively. The briefing provides resources available for making a successful transition back into civilian life and is mandatory.
- Voluntary Separations - Mondays, 8:30am and 1:30pm

Renting Off Base
This hour workshop is designed to assist members, currently living in the dorms, to take charge of transitioning into the local community. Topics will include: how to prepare for apartment living, roommate selection, budgeting, saving, and managing/reducing debt. During this workshop, individual budget assessments will be conducted. Participants will also receive hands-on, interactive training on debt reduction.

Learn how to write a resume, what employers look for and what information to include in a resume at the Resume Workshop.

Right Start
Right Start is facilitated by the Airman & Family Readiness Center Team and is a must for all newcomers! Base and community speakers provide new arrivals an overview of the base and local community programs, services, history, recreational and cultural opportunities. Spouses are also encouraged to attend.

Saving & Investing
During this presentation, participants will learn key steps to developing successful saving and investing strategies. It emphasizes the time value of money! Participants will identify the advantages of having a savings and investment plan early in life..
Sponsor Training
In the Sponsorship Training, participants learn the importance of good sponsorship, the responsibilities of a sponsor and the resources available for providing newcomers with the best possible relocation experience. This training is a mandatory annual and initial training for those assigned as sponsors. This training can also be completed on-line, for details call 456-8400.
Spouse Reunion & Reintegration Briefing
This briefing is for spouses of deployed members. Whether your spouse is schedule dto return soon from deployment, or later, this briefing is still for you! We will provide you tools and resources to assist in the reunion with your deployed spouse. Readiness personnel will be on-hand to provide answers to all your questions. On-site babysitting will be avaialble at NO CHARGE. Please RSVP if you plan to attend by the date listed below.

Talking Money With My Honey
This workshop will provide you tools to effectively discuss finances with your spouse or significant other.
TAP Seminar
The TAP Seminar is facilitated by the Department of Labor and is a 3-day program designed to help military members and their spouses make good career decisions as they move from military service to civilian life. Topics covered in the seminar include personal appraisal, career decisions, applying for the job, resumes, dress for success, the interview and job offers.

Veteran Benefits
Attend the Veteran Benefits one-day briefing, facilitated by 4 veteran representatives, which is designed to assist military members in understanding their benefits after their military service. Topics include information on filing for compensation, service-connected compensation, non service-connected pension, education benefits, medical/dental care through the VA, VA guaranty home loans, VGLI/DVI Insurance, veterans' benefits/educational benefits for surviving spouses and dependent children, final burial benefits and Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment Program.
Troops to Teachers
This workshop is for active duty personnel who are interested in a second career in education. Particpants will gain an understanding of the Troops to Teachers program to include program function, eligibility and application information. Education discusses Tuition Assistance, Praxis Test and VA Policy on Certification.
Welcome to eSponsorship Training
Please click on the “eSponsorship training” link below to complete the new eSponsorship Training. Once completed, you will be given the opportunity to print a completion certificate. YOU MUST bring a copy of this certificate to the Airman & Family Readiness Center and a copy to your Unit INTRO Monitor in order to receive credit for having completed the training. Please keep a copy of the certificate for your records.
This training, developed and sponsored by the DoD, allows you to not only complete training, but print a sponsorship checklist and track whom you are sponsoring electronically and allow them to complete a needs assessment that will be sent to you.
